Our Last Day in the Smokies

After the Mysterious Mansion last night we walked downtown Gatlinburg. We got a pecan log for Jamie's mom as a Thank You gift for taking care of our animals while we were gone. Jamie bought a bottle of Tennessee honey for me (thanks, honey). :0)

Then the kids looked in the shops and each selected a moment from the trip. Cameron found a set of bibi (sp?) handguns, Lexi chose a pretty fan, and Jasmine got some Chakra Stones.

We returned to the parking area where our car was only to find that Jamie had left the rear hatch window down the ENTIRE time we'd been there!!! It didn't look like anything had been disturbed, though, and nothing of great value (outside the car itself) was there for the taking.

We drove back to the chalet where Jamie started a fire in the stove at the outdoor sitting area. The kids had fun roasting some huge marshmallows. Those silly things were as big as a fist balled up! Huge!!! I didn't get any pics of that, though. :0(

Maybe Jamie got some. Anyway, he had the fire going for a couple of hours, and it was beautiful out, and so quiet.

So this morning we packed up the car & headed for one of our favorite spots, the Chimneys picnic area. We'll hang out here today for several hours, having lunch & playing in the mountain stream. Then we'll head for home.

Mysterious Mansion...Or Not

Lexi saw Mysterious Mansion advertised in a guide book & insisted that she wanted to go...until we got there. Well, at least Jamie & Jasmine go to go through it. I stayed outside with the chickens!

Dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe

Jasmine's too cool to look at me...

That's ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons' guitar there. Freakin' cool!

Our waiter had rockin' eye shadow & fangs... :0)

We listened to such tunes as Guns 'N Roses "It's So Easy", Weezer's "Pork And Beans", Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band's "Blue On Black", Alice In Chains' "Your Decision."

Lexi ate a hot dog, Cameron chose chicken drumsticks, while Jasmine & Jamie chose simple 6 oz. Burger platters. I chose the Granny Smith Green Apple & Provolone Burger platter. It was SOOO good!

Playing in the Smokies Streams

We went for a picnic in the Smoky Mountains National Park this afternoon. The kids always love playing in the water afterward. They were loathe to sit still long enough for pictures though, as usual.

Jasmine loves her wildflowers. See the pretty bouquet she picked for me! Good thing there were no park rangers around to enforce all the signs we saw prohibiting the picking of plants. Oops!!!
